Caritas Kyrgyzstan
On 10 January 2022, the President and Director of Caritas Kyrgyzstan received a letter from the Secretary General of Caritas Internationalis. The letter stated that The Review Committee of Caritas Internationalis, at its meeting on 4 November 2021, reviewed and validated the report on the results of the external assessment of Caritas Kyrgyzstan’s compliance with the Caritas Internationalis Management Standards. Caritas Kyrgyzstan also received the certificate of passing the external assessment according to the Safeguarding Standard.
Based on the results of the CI MS External Assessment, Caritas Kyrgyzstan developed the improvement plan, according to which it will strive to improve its performance in the standards where the scores were low until the next CI MS External Assessment.
Caritas Asia nominated Caritas Kyrgyzstan to receive funds from the Caritas Internationalis Solidarity Fund for the implementation of the improvement plan. Therefore, over the next two years, Caritas Kyrgyzstan will train its staff on safeguarding, complaints handling, conflict of interest etc. and will develop policies and procedures on these topics.
