The astronomy project has been implemented since 2015. In the early years, the project was implemented jointly with the Polish Foundation “Under a Common Sky”. For the last 5 years, the project has been implemented with the support of Caritas Japan.
The main goal of the project is to increase the interest of young people in the exact sciences, especially in astronomy.
As part of the project, more than 20 schools received telescopes, more than 40 teachers were trained in the basics of astronomy and new methods of education. Trained teachers in their schools founded astronomy clubs. In these clubs, more than 200 students annually receive knowledge and skills in astronomy, conduct night observations with telescopes. And about 100 of the most active members of astronomy clubs are invited to the annual summer camp, where students have the opportunity, with the help of astronomers, to gain new knowledge and skills, meet their peers from other regions of Kyrgyzstan and share their knowledge with them.
